Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 7 October 2026

1. Who we are and what these Terms cover

Bibs (the "App", which includes the website at bibs5aside.com) is run by Bibs 5aside Ireland Limited, registered in Ireland (company number 824670) ("we", "us"). You can reach us at info@bibs5aside.com.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, are the agreement between you and us when you use the App. By creating an account or using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Who can use Bibs

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or to RSVP to a game. By signing up you confirm that you are, and that the information you give us is accurate. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete its data.

3. What Bibs does

Bibs helps players organise and join casual 5-a-side football games, keep a player card built from ratings by the people they played with, message other players, and post photos to friends or to the public feed. Bibs is a tool for players to coordinate with each other. We do not organise, supervise, referee or insure any game, and we do not own or check any venue.

4. Price, payments and refunds

Bibs is free. We do not charge you, sell anything in the App, or take payments of any kind.

A price shown on a game (for example "€5 a player") is set by that game's organiser to share the cost of the pitch. You pay it, if at all, directly to the organiser outside the App. Any refund, for example if a game is cancelled, is between you and the organiser. We cannot collect, hold or refund that money.

If we ever introduce anything paid, we will show the full price before you pay and explain your cancellation and refund rights at that point.

5. Playing safely

Football is a physical sport with a real risk of injury. Only play if you are fit to, and use your own judgement about any game, venue or player. Organisers are other users, not our staff or agents. If something at a game puts anyone in danger, contact the emergency services first and then tell us.

6. Your account

One account per person, in your own name. Keep your sign-in details secure: you are responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us straight away at the address below if you think someone else has used it.

7. Player ratings and cards

Stat ratings, overall scores and card tiers come from the opinions of other players after games. They are subjective and we do not verify them, so do not treat them as an objective measure of anyone's ability or character. If you think a rating is dishonest or retaliatory, report it from the App and we will look at it.

8. Community rules

When using Bibs you must not:

  • harass, threaten, bully or abuse anyone;
  • post anything illegal, hateful, sexually explicit or violent;
  • post photos of other people without their permission;
  • impersonate someone or create fake accounts;
  • give dishonest or retaliatory ratings, or fake game results;
  • spam, scam, advertise, or try to get round the App's privacy or security controls;
  • use the App for anything other than organising and playing football with other real people.

9. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, captions, messages and other content you post. You give us a licence to store and show that content in the App to the audience you choose (friends or public), for as long as it is on the App. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account. You are responsible for having the right to post what you post.

10. How we moderate

Anyone can report a post, message, rating or player from inside the App. A person reviews every report: we do not use automated tools to decide whether to remove content or restrict an account.

If content or an account breaks these Terms or the law, we may remove the content, limit features (for example messaging or rating), or suspend or close the account. We choose a response that fits how serious and how repeated the problem is.

When we act against your content or account we will tell you what we did and why, unless the law stops us or it would put someone at risk. If you disagree, email us within six months and a different person will look at it again.

11. Reporting illegal content

Anyone, including people without an account, can tell us about illegal content on Bibs by emailing info@bibs5aside.com with:

  • where the content is (a link, or the player, game or club and a description);
  • why you believe it is illegal;
  • your name and email address (not needed if you are reporting child sexual abuse material);
  • a statement that you believe the information in your report is accurate and complete.

We will confirm we received it, act on it promptly, and tell you what we decided. If someone is in immediate danger, contact An Garda Síochána or the emergency services first.

12. Point of contact

Our single point of contact for users, and for authorities under the EU Digital Services Act, is info@bibs5aside.com. You can write to us in English.

13. Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile > Delete account. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, as described in section 10.

14. Changes to the App

We are always improving Bibs, so features may change. If we plan to remove a feature you rely on or to stop running the App, we will give you reasonable notice in the App and the chance to download your data first.

15. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

We are not responsible for:

  • what other users do, including at games arranged through the App;
  • the condition, safety or availability of venues;
  • loss that was not foreseeable when you started using the App;
  • business losses, because the App is for personal use.

Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

16. Changes to these Terms

If we make an important change to these Terms we will tell you in the App or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the law requires a change sooner. If you do not agree with the change, you can delete your account before it takes effect.

17. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts can hear any dispute. If you live elsewhere in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country and can bring a claim there. Please contact us first: most problems can be sorted out quickly.
